Hershey Park Dark Nights Inaugural Year

The Freaks and their little future freak visited .Hershey Parks Dark Nights haunt! Here is our take on the houses and scarezones rated from 1-10 πŸ’€!! First off if you havent visited Hershey Park its a must. Besides having some of the best coasters and rides you also have a warehouse sized candy store and factory tour, that is included with admission!

Haunted House Rankins:

The Descent: πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€ A beautifully colored and setup house, a tad dark but scenery was gorgeous as you are walkibg through almost like a sewer system a la IT style. The tunnels weaved in and out of this massive tent house and did not dissapoint! Just wish it had a few more scare actors.

The Decent Facade

Twisted Darkness: πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€. Just an amazing house also tented. The minute you walk in you are greeted by fog so thick you couldnt see the person in front of you. All that your sense allow are the lights through the fog and evil carnival music. The whole premise was a sideshow where the FREAKS have escaped and taken over committing horrible atrocities. The house was beautifully set up and the use of misdirection for jump scares are why this house was one of the favorites!

Twisted Darkness

Haunted Coal Mine: πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€. This haunt house was unique as you travel through old mine shafts about to collapse. This house had lots of fog and explosions with the scareactors probably being the best out of all the houses as far as getting fully immersed into their characters. The faint smell of sulfur really is what drove it home for us.

Haunted Coal Mine

Creature Chaos: πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€. This house was amazing totally outdoors in the back area of their huge amphitheater. The premise much like twisted darkness was a circus menagerie that had broken out of their cages. From the start you are greeted by an old school circus barker warning you the shows attractions had escaped. Walking past numerous animal cages that had been opened to let its denizens roam free. Overall just a great house.

Scarezone Ratings:

DarkStones Hollow: πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€. Full lots of fog crossing a bridge full of creature sounds and scareactors hiding in every dark recess in the landscape, no true theme just a really foggy awesome lit scarezone.

DarkStones Hollow

Valley of Fear: πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€. Again filled to the brim with fog what made this cool is it twisted and turned on narrow pathways next to one of the parks biggest coasters. No scareactors that I saw but ambiance was amazing.

Valley of Fear

Midway Misery: πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€ Best scarezone of the night. Amongst pop up stands and midway games this scare zone was filled with spark slider scare actors and tons and I do mean tons of fog and Pyro plus an amazing soundtrack from The likes of a one Mr Rob Zombie!

Midway Misery

Dark Nights at Hershey park overall was an amazing experience for their first year. If you are in the area or planning on being around Dark Nights is a must visit this haunt season. We look forward to seeing how the event evolves over the coming years. Until next time See You In The Fog Freaks!!
