(Universal City, CA) There’s so much coming to Universal Studios Hollywood this summer! The park has officially announced the return of Mega Movie Summer, running daily from June 13 through August 9, 2026. Even better, all of the special experiences are included with regular theme park admission.
This year’s event brings a mix of new characters, movie-inspired experiences, and fan-favorite entertainment throughout the park.
Minions & Monsters Arrives at Super Silly Fun Land
The Minions are welcoming a few new faces this summer.
In celebration of Illumination’s upcoming film Minions & Monsters, which arrives in theaters July 1, guests will be able to meet two new Minion characters, Henry and James, near Despicable Me Minion Mayhem. The area will also feature interactive experiences and a lively Minion Dance Party.
For fans of the franchise, it’s a fun new addition that brings even more energy to Super Silly Fun Land.
A Special Look at The Odyssey on the Studio Tour
One of the more unique additions this summer is tied to Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film The Odyssey, which premieres July 17.
An original ship used in the production will be displayed exclusively along the Studio Tour route. Guests riding the tour will also be able to watch filmmaker interviews and behind-the-scenes footage on the tram monitors, offering a closer look at the making of the film.
Fast & Furious Marks 25 Years
The Fast & Furious franchise is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and Universal Plaza will become the hub for the festivities.
Guests can check out authentic vehicles from the films, catch performances from the Street Racers dance crew, and enjoy music from a live DJ throughout the day. The celebration also helps build excitement for Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, the park’s new roller coaster scheduled to open later this summer.
Elphaba and Glinda Return
Fans of Wicked will once again have the chance to meet Elphaba and Glinda during special character appearances near the DreamWorks Theatre.
The themed meet-and-greet location provides a colorful backdrop for photos and offers another opportunity for guests to step into the world of Oz during their visit.
