(Universal City, CA / Orlando, FL) Hold on to your juke joint tickets, Freaks, because Universal just dropped one exciting HHN announcement! Academy Award-winning film Sinners is officially joining the Halloween Horror Nights lineup at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort this fall!
The haunted house will transport you straight into the world of the film’s 1932 Mississippi Delta, where twin brothers Smoke and Stack opened their doors for a night of celebration – only for things to go very, very wrong. Universal promises you’ll come face to face with some of the film’s most beloved characters (including Sammie, Mary, Annie, Pearline and Cornbread) all while trying to survive an encounter with the terrifying, red-eyed vampires Remmick, Bert, and Joan. The goal is simple: make it to sunrise. Getting there is anything but.
What makes this announcement extra special is hearing how the creative teams on both coasts are approaching it. John Murdy, Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, has teased that the team is creating “new ways to scare guests that we’ve never attempted,” and if you know HHN Hollywood at all, that is a bold promise. Over at Universal Orlando, Senior Director of Entertainment Creative Development Mike Aiello called Sinners “an undeniable fit” for the event, noting that it’s rare for a film to fully satisfy hardcore horror fans while also bringing new audiences into the genre.
Sinners opens at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, September 3, and kicks off HHN’s milestone 35th year in Orlando on Friday, August 28.
More house announcements for both coasts are still on the way!
