Feary Tales
@freaks_of_hhn Will she ever answer the door? Absolutely LOVING the character-centric moments in Castle Dark’s new maze: Feary Tales! Check it out in Riverside, CA! #castledark #castlepark #fearytales #riverside #riversideca ♬ original sound – Freaks_of_HHN
Once upon a time, your favorite childhood stories ended happily ever after. Not anymore. A dark magic has twisted these beloved tales into nightmares—wolves with jagged teeth stalk the woods, gingerbread houses drip with something far more sinister than icing, and fairies feast on the lost. Each turn pulls you deeper into a storybook gone wrong, where every page turn could be your last. In this realm, there are no heroes—only survivors.

My favorite of the three mazes, Feary Tales transported guests into a dark storybook come to life, where classic fairy tales were reimagined with sinister twists. What made this maze truly stand out were the extended interactions with its terrifying cast of characters – each encounter offering not just a scare, but a glimpse into their haunting backstories. I loved being able to linger in those moments, uncovering just enough of their tales to feel both intrigued and unsettled, all while deepening the sense of immersion within the maze.

Midnight Manor
@freaks_of_hhn The ghosts are loose within Midnight Manor – one of the newest mazes at Castle Dark! Find your way through this twisted mansion with only a flashlight to guide your path! A huge thanks to @thehauntgirl for inviting us to join her on this adventure! #castledark #castlepark #riverside #riversideca #socalhaunts ♬ original sound – Freaks_of_HHN
You’re part of a ghost-hunting team investigating the legend of Midnight Manor, a place said to come alive every Halloween at midnight, claiming all who enter. As the clock strikes twelve, the manor twists into a nightmarish maze. Walls move, spirits stir, and your team begins to disappear. Now, you must escape the haunted halls before the house traps you inside.
@freaks_of_hhn Enter the kitchen at your own risk at Castle Dark’s Midnight Manor! One of the newest mazes at this Riverside attraction, guests will find their way through this twisted mansion using only an untrustworthy flashlight! #riversidecaliforina #castledark #midnightmanor #castlepark #halloween ♬ original sound – Freaks_of_HHN
Armed with only a flashlight, guests must illuminate their own path as they venture through shadowy corridors and winding turns. The added challenge of lighting your own way transforms the maze into an even more engaging journey. I absolutely loved this interactive twist! It added suspense, unpredictability, and a whole new layer of fun to the experience.
Containment Breach
@freaks_of_hhn What do you get when you cross a plant with human DNA? Find out inside Containment Breach – a BRAND NEW maze at Riverside’s Castle Dark! #castledark #castlepark #hauntedattractions #riversidecaliforina #socalhaunts ♬ original sound – Freaks_of_HHN
At first glance, it’s just a quiet plant shop, but beneath the surface, it is a secret government facility experimenting with human DNA in plants. The goal: create hybrid “plant zombies” for unknown purposes. Something’s gone horribly wrong. The hybrids have broken free, overrunning the shop and spreading throughout the facility. Now, survivors must navigate tangled vines, locked doors, and deadly plant creatures racing to escape before the containment breach consumes them all.

If you’re into sci-fi, you’ll love the atmosphere inside Containment Breach! I adored all of the gritty decor, horrifying plant creatures, and engaging actor moments in this maze.
Haunted Highway
Take a trip down the Haunted Highway for a delightfully eerie journey through classic Halloween scenes! This seasonal overlay transforms the park’s charming kiddie car ride into a whimsical drive filled with spooky decorations, glowing jack-o’-lanterns, and playful frights around every bend. With its lighthearted chills and festive atmosphere, it’s a perfect attraction for guests of all ages.
