(Los Angeles, CA) Presented by Trepany House and sponsored by Titmouse, Strings is a brand-new horror production that delivers squirm-worthy visuals, complex characters, and a darkly humorous nod to all-too-familiar healthcare frustrations. Playing select Saturday evenings now through November 1, this compelling work (written and directed by Trepany House founder Amit Itelman) blends psychological terror with sharp social commentary in a way that lingers long after the curtain falls.
We were thrilled to attend last weekend’s performance of this remarkable play. Thank you, Trepany House, for inviting us!

More About Strings
Strings is the story of Stanley Porter, a man convinced he has Morgellons – a controversial and mysterious condition where strings erupt from his skin. After being denied treatment by the healthcare system, Stanley spirals into a desperate fight for justice using chaos and violence as his chosen weapons. As reality fractures and tensions rise, Strings grips audiences in a “modern terror noir” that’s as thought-provoking as it is terrifying.
Freaky Thoughts: Strings
With unsettling body horror imagery and a psychologically intense storyline, Strings offers a theatrical experience that horror fans and live theater enthusiasts alike will not soon forget. Stanley’s radical measures in pursuit of treatment are absolutely chilling, but if you’ve ever faced a difficult-to-treat medical condition, his extreme desperation resonates on an almost painful level. The duality of both Stanley’s physical pain and his sickening circumstances is what makes Strings so compelling.
As a newcomer to Trepany House, I was captivated by their bold storytelling and distinctive style. Strings is a disturbing, fascinating piece, and I definitely recommend it. Don’t miss your chance to experience it live!
