(North Hollywood, CA) For two weekends only (July 5, 6, 12, and 13) audiences can encounter Slice of Grace, a bold and unapologetic new one-woman show coming to Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group in North Hollywood. Written and performed by Grace Major and produced/directed by Zombie Joe, Slice of Grace offers a raw, fearless examination of femininity, self-acceptance, and living within our own sacred divinity – all wrapped in the signature horror-laced style that Zombie Joe’s iconic theatre is known for.
We had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Grace Major to hear firsthand about her creative process and the inspirations behind this powerful production. A huge thanks to Grace for sharing her time and insight with us!
About Slice of Grace
Described by the theatre as a “one-woman excavation into the spiraling tunnel of her nightmares and dreamscapes,” Slice of Grace is an audience-forward experience filled with active participation, self-exploration, and (fair warning) a bit of graphic violence. Audience members should be ready to join Grace in diva-esque activities, spotlight-stealing moments, and unexpected immersive interactions.
As a fellow woman, I’m particularly drawn to Grace’s commitment to celebrating the inherent strength and beauty of the feminine spirit. Through this production, she invites audiences of all identities to connect with their own feminine instincts and embrace every facet of their personhood – from resilience to vulnerability, and everything in between.
While I haven’t yet experienced the show for myself, I’m genuinely moved by Grace’s message and artistic intent. Slice of Grace promises not only to entertain but to deliver an important and timely message for audiences of all backgrounds and gender expressions. In a world that often asks us to shrink ourselves, this show urges us to stand tall in our authenticity.
