Let Your Fringe Flag Fly! The 34th Annual Orlando International Fringe Festival is finally here! From May 13-26, Loch Haven Park (as well as other areas of Orlando) will come alive with over 1,000 ticketed performances, an eclectic visual art gallery, kids’ activities, a free outdoor stage, and plenty more. While there’s simply too much Fringe to cover in a single article, we will be rolling out a series of posts about this incredible event. In this second installment for the 2025 Orlando Fringe season, let’s go on a hunt for The Last Bear!

As huge fans of this yearly celebration, we’re thrilled to be covering these exceptional artists and creators. A big thank you to Orlando Fringe for inviting us to your media previews!
About The Last Bear
The Last Bear is a traditional stage show located off the main Fringe campus. Instead, you’ll find this production at the Renaissance Theatre Company on Princeton Street. It features the story of a lesbian couple, Paige and Val, who find themselves in the middle of a blood-thirsty hunt for the last Arctic polar bear. As the entire event is broadcast by Travesty News, the couple is forced to confront their own beliefs, moral boundaries, and a few…uneasy…choices.
You can learn more about this show on the Orlando Fringe website.

Freaky Thoughts: The Last Bear
A mixture of dark satire, lively characters, and lots of laugh-worthy moments, The Last Bear is an engaging and entertaining production. It includes a variety of themes (like the current political landscape, dangerous social media attitudes, and anxiety-inducing news cycles), but one particular lesson stood out. While I won’t spoil the moment, I will tell you that a certain character’s realization that imperfect progress is still something to be appreciated and even celebrated was especially impactful. I have a feeling this will be one of my favorite scenes from this year’s Festival.
Getting Tickets To The Last Bear
Tickets for The Last Bear or any Orlando Fringe production can be purchased on orlandofringe.org. Because 100% of the base ticket price is given directly to the respective artists (one of the amazing ways Fringe supports emerging and established creators), you will also need to purchase a reusable 2025 Fringe Festival button. Buttons are $10 and grant access to all the performances at this year’s event (along with an individually purchased show ticket). No matter how many productions you plan to see, you only need one button per person, per year. Purchase your button online or on the main Fringe campus.
