(Los Angeles, CA) Over the weekend, we were thrilled to attend the Spooky Swap Meet – a springtime Halloween-themed event in Los Angeles. Filled with creepy photo opportunities, eerie vendors, haunted walkthroughs, and even all ages trick-or-treating; the Spooky Swap Meet was the perfect way to enjoy some mid-year scares!

What’s Included At The Spooky Swap Meet?
A multi-faceted event, the Spooky Swap Meet features lots of ghostly fun and Halloween-inspired activities. Let’s take a look at all of the included attractions at this past weekend’s celebration:
Haunted Walkthroughs
My favorite part of any horror event, the Spooky Swap Meet featured two haunted walkthroughs. The first, sponsored and designed by the iconic Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, featured ominous set pieces, jump scares, and even visits from some of the Hayride’s beloved Halloween characters.
In the second walkthrough, created by Sanatorium Emporium, guests were treated to a five minute tour of Thorncraft Valley Asylum. We got to explore several rooms and meet a few unsettling characters. It was definitely a memorable experience!
Photo Opportunities
In addition to the haunted walkthroughs, Spook Swap Meet included several unique photo opportunities.
A Mr. He Slasher’s Deadstock
In this photo opportunity, guests were invited to choose their favorite pattern and dress up in a classic “ghost” costume! It was ADORABLE!
Samhain’s Restless Farm
A combined effort between multiple talented haunters, Samhain’s Restless Farm brought guests to Packer’s Mortuary – where people are dying to get in! This gorgeous photo backdrop included large scale set pieces and incredible lighting techniques.
Spooky Light Show

Over at the Haunt Comp house, we found a spooky light show with creepy music and traditional Halloween imagery. It was such a fun addition to the evening!
Poe’s House Party
Sponsored by popular cosplayer Spooky Professor, this indoor location was filled with family-friendly activities like arts and crafts, fun games, and even a sensory table.
Live Entertainment
We also found some fantastic live entertainment – like this Monster Variety Show by Stage Fright Theater! It was hilarious and super creative.
All Ages Trick-or-Treating
What’s Halloween without trick-or-treating? At various stations throughout the Spooky Swap Meet, kids and adults could enjoy a sweet snack. Thank you to the vendors and haunters that brought such awesome candy! What a delicious taste of the upcoming fall season!
Food and Merchandise Vendors
Of course, the Spooky Swap Meet had lots and lots of vendors! Selling everything from character-adorned clothing to specialty coffee, there were plenty of shopping options at this event.
Freaky Thoughts: Spooky Swap Meet
Wow! We simply ADORED our visit to the Spooky Swap Meet! The haunted walkthroughs, spooky photo opportunities, and live entertainment were just what our Halloween-loving hearts craved. What an extraordinary way to connect with the SoCal creepy community and celebrate our favorite holiday in an off-season time of year.
