Founded out of a love for Halloween, haunted attractions, and theme park spookiness, Freaks of HHN has grown from a single Facebook page to a cross-platform brand visiting locally and nationally-based attractions and haunts and sharing them with our followers. We focus on themed entertainment-based content and helping others plan their own vacations and adventures. We are a dedicated group of haunt enthusiasts, theme park aficionados, and attraction devotees. (Orlando, FL) Evoking the sights and sounds of St. Cloud, Florida, Gorgeous will return to The Renaissance Theatre Company (The Ren). Running April 11th through May 3rd, 2025, this side-splitting musical comedy is a homegrown gem you do not want to miss.
Written by the wickedly funny Donald Rupe, Gorgeous is a hilarious, no-holds-barred journey through the Ms. Golden Boot Pageant (and scholarship ceremony!). And while it takes very loose inspiration from the cult classic Drop Dead Gorgeous, let’s just say… any resemblance to the Silver Spurs Rodeo in St. Cloud is purely coincidental (wink wink).

Expect big smiles, bigger personalities, and dance numbers that may or may not be entirely appropriate. With characters like the fabulously absurd town choreographer Svedka Stolichnaya and over-the-top pageant mama Breanna Buckley, you’ll be laughing from the first glittery entrance to the final sash.
Cast member Kendall Leamy sums it up best:
“Gorgeous is about a place that many people have heard of or visited (St. Cloud, Florida). When the characters sing about the amoebas in the lake, many people know exactly which lake. When there are little lines about real-life landmarks that sound too ridiculous to be true, locals may remember the real-life inspiration. Fans of movies like Drop Dead Gorgeous and Miss Congeniality will love this feel-good, funny musical, which is meant to be a comedic escape from the real world.”

But wait—it doesn’t end when the curtain drops.
Stick around after the show for “Boots,” The Ren’s high-energy afterparty! Dance the night away with a live house band led by local legends Iris Johnson and AC Jenkins, covering everything from Shania Twain and The Chicks to Beyoncé.
Then hit the dance floor for a line dancing lesson, followed by a dazzling drag show on the bar featuring stars like Myki Meeks, Angelica Sanchez, Orusha San Miguel, and a whole cast of fierce performers. Hosting the party is none other than Blake Aburn, back from his Off-Broadway run in From Here.

On select nights, you’ll even catch RuPaul’s Drag Race royalty like Kennedy Davenport and Sam Star lighting up the stage.
General admission for Boots is standing room (aka party mode), but reserved seating and VIP packages are available.
Gorgeous is the latest in The Renaissance Theatre Company’s mission to uplift local talent and produce exciting new works. Since its founding in 2021 by Donald Rupe and Chris Kampmeier, The Ren has championed fair artist pay, diversity, and sustainability—all while keeping theatre affordable, with general admission tickets for Gorgeous costing just $40.
