(North Hollywood, CA) A long standing Zombie Joe’s tradition, the 50 Hour Drive-By Theatre Festival will return THIS WEEKEND (January 25-27)! This remarkable event features four talented teams of artists with only two days to create and develop brand new mini-plays.
While Freaks of HHN is not able to physically attend the final performances, we were THRILLED to be invited to visit the cast’s kick off meeting. We learned so much about the 50 Hour Drive-By Theatre Festival and the fascinating process that brings it to life. Thank you, Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group, for having us out!
More About The 50 Hour Drive-By Theatre Festival
The 50 Hour Drive-By Theatre Festival is a unique showcase featuring speedily composed and rehearsed short plays. In just two days, four randomly assigned teams of artists (including a writer, director, and a set of performers) will conceptualize and produce original works with varying stories and themes.
With every aspect of this event chosen completely by lottery (including three random props that writers MUST include in their narrative), the 50 Hour Drive-By Theatre Festival promises an out-of-the-ordinary performance experience. Combining the immense talents of the Zombie Joe’s cast and their compressed creative timelines, there’s no telling what kind of drama, comedy, or horror might emerge!
Each Festival performance is expected to run approximately 70 minutes with no intermission. Make sure to arrive early to secure the best available seat.
Important Note: As with any Zombie Joe’s production, the 50 Hour Drive-By Theatre Festival might include adult themes, sexual situations, disturbing imagery, and triggering material.
Viewer discretion is advised.
