More About Dark Harbor
Organized as a horror-centric festival, Dark Harbor fills a portion of the Queen Mary ship as well as the surrounding harbor with a variety of spooky mazes, live entertainment, specialty refreshments, and fun activities. Three of the aforementioned mazes are actually onboard the ship, utilizing the existing corridors and spaces for a terrifyingly organic experience. But while the other two mazes might not share the ship’s incredible spaces, they are no less immersive! Built with large scale sets and innovative effects, each Dark Harbor maze features unique storylines and experiences.

Dark Harbor also includes a set of recurring, beloved characters including The Captain, The Admiral, Graceful Gale, The Ringmaster, Scary Mary, and The Butcher. Step inside the backend of the ship’s kitchen to witness the origin story of The Chef, who began his career as a young, ambitious and handsome Butcher with his eye on the head chef role aboard the luxury cruise liner. After chopping up flesh for years on the ship, The Butcher grew resentful towards the ungrateful First Class Passengers who consumed his meticulously prepared meats. Frustrated, The Butcher takes recipe creation efforts into his own bloody hands by adding a special ingredient that no one can quite put their finger on. Will you be able to escape the wrath of The Butcher or will you be served up next?

The wicked spirits of a sadistic surgeon and his accomplice in life, Graceful Gale, torment the living with ghastly echoes of their gruesome procedures. Their path of destruction stretches from the First-Class decks to the eerie depths deep inside the bowels of the Queen Mary as they accost the living with their unrelenting rage. While the spectacle of Dr. Edwin Master’s specialized surgeries in the operating theater dazzles spectators, but they have no idea what’s happening below in the third class corridors. Injustice will not stand for long. Will the third class patients overthrow this maniacal medic or will he and Gale continue their gory game in this violent, disturbing and macabre masquerade?

Filled with medically-inspired visuals and disgusting experiments, Infirmary is absolutely terrifying! The gruesome sets and existing ship infrastructure blend together to create an immersive and unsettling story. I love this maze!

Perhaps my favorite of the Dark Harbor mazes, Lullaby’s storyline and characters are absolutely chilling. Many of the rooms and scenes are deeply disturbing, and I appreciate Dark Harbor’s unflinching approach to this heavy subject matter.

A literal double maze, Breakout and On the Run is HUGE! It took me over ten minutes to navigate all of the tiny passages, special tunnels, and huge sets. Though Breakout and On the Run is not located onboard The Queen Mary, this is an absolutely gorgeous maze!

Focused on the dynamic Ringmaster, Big Top Terror has a ton of classic circus imagery like large animals, funhouse effects, and vibrant colors. I adored the whimsical vibes and lighthearted atmosphere of this lively house.

Each evening you can find at least four secret speakeasies hidden around Dark Harbor’s campus. These specially themed bars might be tucked away in various corners of the event’s main area or even concealed within one of the immersive mazes. Each bar offers signature cocktails and mocktails as well as exclusive experiences and decor!
