(Orlando, FL) Orlando Fringe is back with a wide variety of ticketed performances, a free outdoor stage, an eclectic visual art gallery, and kids’ activities. While there’s simply too much Fringe to cover in a single article, we are doing a series of posts about this incredible Orlando event. In this fifth installment for the 2024 season, we are falling head over heels for Miah in Love!
We were thrilled to attend the opening performance of Miah in Love at Orlando Fringe! What a beautiful show filled with original music, hopeful love stories, and giddy smiles. Thank you, Jeremiah Gibbons and Orlando Fringe, for inviting us out!
What is Orlando Fringe?

Miah in Love is playing at Orlando Fringe, a two-week theater festival focused on unjuried and uncensored works of performance art. While similar festivals exist all over the world, Orlando Fringe is the longest running event of its kind within the United States. Fringe Festivals are generally known for featuring alternative or experimental pieces of art, so you really never know what you’re going to find!

About Jeremiah Gibbons

A gifted songwriter, inspired playwright, and talented ukulele-player; Jeremiah Gibbons (Miah) is no stranger to the Orlando Fringe stage. I first saw them perform in Orlando Fringe 2023’s audio-drama The War by the legendary Phoenix Tears Productions. Last December, Miah showed off their writing chops with the debut of Ophelia (also produced by Phoenix Tears) – a full length stage musical exploring an alternative take on the classic Hamlet story.

Venue: SAVOY Orlando
It is important to note that Miah in Love is NOT located on the Fringe main campus. Instead, this show takes place at SAVOY Orlando, a multi-roomed gay bar and entertainment venue in the Ivanhoe Village area. Open seven days a week, this lively establishment features yummy drinks and varied performances. Learn more about this popular Orlando club on their Instagram page.
It’s Showtime!
Miah in Love is a 30-minute, one-person cabaret featuring six original songs and personal stories of love, heartache, and finding your own path. With their trusty ukulele and soulful singing voice, Miah leads us through an inspiring journey to remind us all that love is, in fact, queer.
Miah in Love, according to the Orlando Fringe website:
Miah in Love is a cabaret featuring Miah and their trusty ukulele, frolicking through love, laughter, and heartache. Singing their original music about what love means to them, Miah opens up their heart and pours out their soul. This is of course very brave and Miah is very humble to admit this. It’s hard to miss just how in love they are because they’re blushing right across the bridge of their nose, tee hee! For, as we all know, love is queer.
