(Orlando, FL) Orlando Fringe is back with a wide variety of ticketed performances, a free outdoor stage, an eclectic visual art gallery, and kids’ activities. While there’s simply too much Fringe to cover in a single article, we are doing a series of posts about this incredible Orlando event. In this second installment for the 2024 season, we’re joining a beloved local burlesque troupe for their Orlando Fringe show. Let’s dive into Corsets & Cuties: Drip!

Freaks of HHN was honored to be invited to attend a special media preview of Corsets & Cuties: Drip. As I have come to expect from this legendary troupe (read my previous coverage of their ICONIC and Sizzle productions), Drip isn’t your average burlesque show! Corsets & Cuties’ productions are filled with powerful performers, a variety of creative numbers, and lots of fun. Thank you, Orlando Fringe and Corsets & Cuties, for inviting us out.
What is Orlando Fringe?

Corsets & Cuties: Drip is playing at Orlando Fringe, a two-week theater festival focused on unjuried and uncensored works of performance art. While similar festivals exist all over the world, Orlando Fringe is the longest running event of its kind within the United States. Fringe Festivals are generally known for featuring alternative or experimental pieces of art, so you really never know what you’re going to find!

About Corsets & Cuties

A “Best of Orlando” voted burlesque troupe and the longest running BYOV (Bring Your Own Venue) show at Orlando Fringe, Corsets & Cuties performs scintillating shows in various venues around the Central Florida area. Past locations include Theater West End in Sanford, Cocktails and Screams in Downtown Orlando, and, of course, their current production at The Dust Orlando.
But just as varied as their venues are their show themes. Looking at their social media, you can find previous performances labeled Creepy Cuties, Holiday Kick Off, Anniversary Shows, Valentine’s Parties, and an Amateur Burlesque Contest! Keep an eye on their Facebook and Instagram pages for their latest Fringe updates and future upcoming show announcements!

But Corsets & Cuties isn’t just about the art of the tease. They are what’s known as a burlesque cabaret, meaning that each production contains a variety of acts. Instead of following a strict show outline or prescribed theme, Corsets & Cuties allows their performers the freedom and creativity to design a routine that speaks to their individual strengths, style, and personality. In addition to the expected teases, Drip included live singing, partnered dance choreography, and even a visit from an inflatable snow man. By encouraging their cast to tap into their unique strengths and styles, Corsets & Cuties creates powerful displays of self-expression and artistic creation.

Venue: The Dust Orlando

It’s important to note that Corsets & Cuties: Drip is not located on the Fringe main campus. Instead it takes place at The Dust Orlando, an underground, “retro chic” club near Lake Eola. When you arrive at this BYOV Fringe venue, grab a yummy drink and head to the rear of the bar to find your seat for the show!
It’s Time to Drip!

Corsets & Cuties: Drip, according to the Orlando Fringe website:
8x Best-of-Orlando listed Corsets & Cuties are back for round 9 of Orlando Fringe with Drip. Bringing everything steamy and hot O-Town is known for underground- downtown- at The Dust. Known for their outrageous humor and vaudeville- style burlesque show, audiences continue to come back for more live singing, dancing, and whatever else may pop up. Surprises, giveaways from Sponsor Premier Couples Superstore, and more are all things you can look forward to at a Cuties show. Gather your group, bring your singles, and get ready for a good damn time!
Corsets & Cuties: Drip is an hour-long, tantalizing performance including individual burlesque teases as well as group dance numbers. Be prepared for adult content, and don’t forget to bring some singles to tip your performers!
With each number loosely inspired by the show’s title and Corsets & Cuties’ commitment to individual expression and creative freedom; you can expect a wide variety of songs and performance styles. From melting snow to wax candles, from lemon squeezes to rainy days; there are so many ways to drip!
Freaky Thoughts – Corsets & Cuties: Drip

Fun Fact: Corsets & Cuties ICONIC (2022) was my very first, full-blown burlesque show and while I’ve seen many since, I have yet to find another group as representative and empowering as Corsets & Cuties. Founded specifically to showcase performers that may not “fit the cookie cutter mold” of traditional burlesque, Corsets & Cuties celebrates individuals of all talents, sizes, colors, gender identities, ages, and styles. With their unique show format and supportive environment, Corsets & Cuties shows are a beautiful tribute to individuality and inclusivity.
I absolutely adore this group. As I wrote after watching Corsets & Cuties: Sizzle in 2023, “Corsets & Cuties has somehow harnessed the potential of burlesque to empower and embolden both their cast and their audience. To watch a Corsets & Cuties show is to be continuously reminded that we are all at our absolute sexiest when we are truly, confidently, and unabashedly ourselves.”
Corsets & Cuties will only perform FOUR TIMES during this year’s Orlando Fringe Festival. Don’t miss your chance to Drip!
