(Las Vegas, NV) Located in the historic Wengert Mansion near the Las Vegas Arts District, Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum offers a macabre collection of disturbing artifacts, true crime displays and paranormal recordings. Founded by the famous TV ghost hunter, The Haunted Museum is not for the casual observer or faint-of-heart. No, this famous Las Vegas attraction is only for those that are prepared for a fascinating yet truly terrifying experience.
Thank you, Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum, for inviting us to visit your Sin City attraction. It’s a unique adventure, offering some of the most unsettling and horrifying exhibits I have ever seen. As a horror fan or spooky enthusiast, is The Haunted Museum right for you and your group? Let’s look at all the morbid and grisly details to find out:
About Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum

Instead of the more tourist trafficked Las Vegas Strip or Fremont Street, Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum is located in a 13,000 square foot, 30+ room property with a rumored dark history. Because of the nature of the Museum and its contents, guests are not allowed to venture through the facility alone. Instead, visitors are grouped into tours and led through each exhibit with a knowledgeable guide.
Some of the items you’ll find inside the Museum include true crime artifacts (like Ted Bundy’s “murder kit” and Dr. Jack Kevorkian’s van), items from celebrity deaths (like James Dean’s transaxle) and other objects with sinister pasts.

Warning: All of the items featured at Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum are attached to truly disturbing stories and events. If you are sensitive to that sort of content or you consider yourself to be a spiritual person, you may want to avoid this attraction.
Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum Experience
Arrival at Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum

Upon arrival at the Museum, guests will check in at security before waiting in an outdoor queue. Once inside, they will gather in a creepy waiting area where they can peruse a collection of unsettling dolls and view scenes of Zak’s many adventures.

Before their tour begins, guests will be asked to sign a waiver. Because Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum contains a selection of dark artifacts and has been the site of some disturbing events, waivers are required for all guests.
The Haunted Museum Tour

Lasting approximately two hours, each group is paired with a knowledgeable guide for a walking tour of the museum’s 30+ rooms. While I was not allowed to take pictures during the tour, I will tell you that each room was vastly different. Some of the rooms were set up like traditional museums, with a variety of displayed artifacts. Others were a bit more tailored to the horror-themed experience such as a small “haunted house” with jump scares and live performers and paranormal presentations with real, working ghost boxes.
As I previously mentioned, some of the exhibits feature deeply disturbing and/or grisly items and images. Before each of these rooms, guests will be warned of the content and given the opportunity to skip that room or experience. Walls, scrims, and verbal warnings give guests plenty of time to avert their eyes or leave the area before viewing anything they don’t wish to see.

Freaky Thoughts: Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum

Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum includes a wide variety of objectively fascinating (although extremely macabre) objects. If you are already a fan of his TV work or you enjoy learning about grisly events and paranormal activity, you will probably enjoy this high-quality attraction.
However, I do need to warn you that this experience is INTENSE. I am a seasoned haunt-goer and huge horror fan. I adore scary stories and dark tales. But this Museum (which featured more horror fact than horror fiction) was too much for me. In particular, I found many of the objects with spiritual implications to be way too dangerous and disturbing. Some of these items disturbed me so much that I don’t even want to describe them in this article. Use caution when choosing to visit Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum.

In conclusion, Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum is an award-winning, (“Best Attraction” from Las Vegas Weekly and “Best Museum” from LV Review-Journal) quality attraction. The experience is seamless and well-organized. The tour guides are informed and helpful, and the exhibits are incredibly captivating. If you are prepared for the disturbing and visceral nature the Museum’s content, you are likely to adore your experience.
