Carowinds, an exciting amusement park straddling the border between North and South Carolina, is NOW OPEN for its 2024 season. With fan-favorite coasters, brand new menu items, and lots of fun upcoming events; this is a great year for the family-friendly park.
We were so thrilled to be invited to a special media event showcasing the park’s newest food and merchandise offerings. Thank you, Carowinds, for inviting us out!

Returning! All Your Favorite Carowinds Attractions
It’s a whole new year to enjoy all of Carowinds’ best attractions like the recently opened and child-friendly Aeronautica Landing and thrilling coasters like Fury 325 and Copperhead Strike!
Newly rethemed, Thunder Striker (previously known as Intimidator), still offers all its beloved drops, speeds, and airtime moments.
And, of course, there’s the rest of Carowinds’ famous rides like Boo Blasters on Boo Hill (a ghostly shooting game), Camp Snoopy, and more!
NEW! Menu Options in 2024
New year, new menus! During our media showcase, Chef John Loukas gave us a tour of some of the unique and delectable food options added to various Carowinds dining locations. We even got to sample a few of these delicious items.

Black and White Cupcake
My favorite of the new desserts, the Black and White cupcake features a sugary cake base with thick, fluffy icing. Inspired by the famous cookie, the chocolate frosting is actually more of a ganache texture for a delightful and decadent treat!
Stuffed Mushrooms
Filled with creamy and cheesy goodness, who doesn’t love a good stuffed mushroom?
Blue Ridge Country Kitchen Chicken Sandwich
The Blue Ridge Country Kitchen Chicken Sandwich features a light breading with flavorful pickles and a spicy sauce. It was a filling and tasty option for an active afternoon at the park.
Brussel Sprouts
Do not sleep on Carowinds’ new Brussel Sprouts! Served in a tangy, sweet sauce; I had three servings of these tasty vegetables.

NEWLY ANNOUNCED! 2024 Carowinds Special Events
Along with brand new menu options and charming merchandise, Carowinds has announced their upcoming events for the new year. Let’s explore all the exciting happenings coming to the park:
Spring Break (March 29-April 7)
During Carowinds’ Spring Break days, you can enjoy Marvelous Mutts – a canine spectacular sports entertainment show. And on Easter weekend, don’t forget to get your picture taken with the Easter Beagle at Camp Snoopy!
Summer Music Festival amplified by Coke Studio (select weekends in July and August)
A multi-weekend event, the Summer Music Festival amplified by Coke Studio will include headline performances at the Paladium as well as local talent performing throughout the Carowinds park. Some of the featured performers will include Flo Rida, LeAnn Rimes, Skillet, and more! Check out carowinds.com/events/summer-music-fest for more information and an updated performance schedule.
Tricks and Treats (Saturdays and Sundays September 14- October 27)
A family-friendly Halloween event, Tricks and Treats features a seasonal parade, park wide trick-or-treating, and more!
SCarowinds (select nights September 13-October 27)
In September, SCarowinds returns with incredible haunted houses, thrill zones, and monsters! And for the very first time, guests will not require a separate ticket for entry allowing season pass holders to enjoy the screams as part of their yearly perks.
WinterFest (select nights November 15 – December 31)
Enjoy a Carolina holiday tradition at WinterFest! The park will be filled with dazzling light displays, Christmas-themed entertainment (including the WinterFest Wonderland Parade), and lots of delectable treats.
New Year’s Eve at WinterFest (December 31)
The only family-friendly New Year’s celebration on the state line, this event includes fireworks, live entertainment, extended hours, and lots of Carowinds’ signature fun.
