Recently, we were honored to attend The Oddities & Curiosities Expo in Los Angeles, California; and it was SPECTACULAR! We had such a great time exploring all of the unique vendors and spending time with other spooky people. I can’t wait to tell you about everything we experienced. What is The Oddities & Curiosities Expo?
An exceptionally unique traveling show, The Oddities & Curiosities Expo is a multi-day event with independent artists, performers (like sideshow acts and aerialists), photo opportunities, and grisly classes (like how-to taxidermy demonstrations). During these ghastly weekends, fans of the morbid and weird can come together for a one-of-a-kind gathering and experience.

The Oddities & Curiosities Expo Experience
Arriving at the Los Angeles Convention Center, I was almost immediately transported from the land of the living to an unearthly playground full of incredible sights and sounds. Let’s take a look at all the different aspects that make The Oddities & Curiosities Expo such a great event:

Vendors and Artists
While there is a lot going on at this event, the main draw to The Oddities & Curiosities Expo is, of course, the varied vendors and independent artists populating the main show floor. Selling everything from taxidermied specimens, handcrafted cat toys, horror movie-themed jewelry, custom artwork, and more; it’s impossible to list all of the available vendors and merchandise in this article. However, we did talk to three remarkable artists that we would like to spotlight:
Hayes Haunt Productions
After successfully running his own home haunt, Roger Hayes is now known for his custom-engraved headstones, Halloween-themed artwork and, detailed props and production pieces. The Skeletorium
An incredible fusion of natural history and fun art, The Skeletorium uses animal skeletons, insects, and other artifacts to create dioramas, “action figures,” and colorful scenes. Check out their Instagram feed, or peruse their collection at theskeletorium.com.
LabCreature
Combining a love for cats, cryptids, and monsters; LabCreature creates incredible wood carvings, catnip toys, buttons, stickers, and other fun art! Find out more at labcreature.com, or follow them on Instagram.

Photo Opportunities
Between visiting vendors and purchasing one-of-a-kind artwork, you and your friends can pose at one of several photo opportunities. In addition to the branded Oddities & Curiosities areas, there were several ornately decorated hearses – complete with horrifying props!
Live Entertainment
Throughout the day, we got to enjoy live performances on the Oddities & Curiosities stage. The available entertainment included sideshow acts (like Supernova the Strong Woman and The Amazing Zilla) as well as aerialist Megan Bautista.

Specialty Classes
Now is your chance to learn the art of taxidermy or beginner entomology! These specialty classes are taught by experienced instructors and only include ethically sourced specimens and materials.
