Thank you, Stage Fright (the creators of the Asylum haunted house) and Melon Patch Theatre, for inviting us out.

About Stage Fright

Asylum was designed and produced by Stage Fright – an all-volunteer group of horror and performance enthusiasts. Using the actual stage, auditorium, and green room of the Melon Patch Theatre, Stage Fright creates innovative and original haunted trails. Changing the theme and story each year, these haunts utilize the time and talent of experienced entertainment professionals – some from the local theme parks!

Asylum – An Immersive Walkthrough Experience

The Story
This year’s spooky fundraiser features an asylum theme with gory, medical facility-inspired imagery, creepy characters, and skin-crawling scenes. As always, the brand new and original story was created by solely by the Stage Fright team. Check it out below.
From the Stage Fright website:
Driven mad by the gruesome murder of his wife and daughter at the hands of one of his own patients brilliant psychotherapist Dr. Matthew Toboggan now toils endlessly in the basement of this home for the criminally insane. An area known only as unit 81…
…Those who work at The Kim Institute live in fear that one day, one of Dr Toboggans victims will escape.
Today is that day
Our Visit to the Kim Institute

As a HUGE fan of Stage Fright and their incredibly spooky and immersive experiences, I was so excited to visit this group’s 2023 creation. Upon arriving at the Kim Institute, I was ushered into a super creepy pre-show complete with live actors and a realistic elevator. I took the lift to Unit 81 to begin my unsettling journey through the eerie corridors and sinister scenery!
I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but I will tell you that my visit to the Kim Institute was filled with screams, gore, and terrifyingly personal performer interactions. As I walked through the ill-fated facility, I encountered laboratories, medical units, operating rooms, and of course, a morgue. As always, Stage Fright created detailed and captivating environments for an unforgettable experience!
