After a devastating fire in 2021, the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando is rebuilding – with a brand new shelter location on John Young Parkway! Launching the construction project with a special “First Dig,” this new and improved animal shelter will include air-conditioned housing, specialized medical areas, and even some outdoor dog walking trails. We were so honored to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for this upcoming property. Thank you, Pet Alliance, for having us out!
About the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando
The Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando seeks to improve the lives of local animals through community education, rehoming and adoption services, veterinary care (including low cost spay and neuter programs), a pet food pantry for needy owners, and other important and life-saving initiatives. With literally thousands of homeless animals turned over to the organization every single year, the Pet Alliance continues to provide vital tools and resources to keep animals in loving, happy homes. A New Orlando Home for Pet Alliance!
Slated to open in 2025, Pet Alliance’s new 25,000 square foot shelter will feature record-breaking facilities for their animals including the largest shelter medical center in the state of Florida and disease specific quarantine areas for both cats and dogs.
Along with the safety and health of its animals, the Pet Alliance is concerned with their comforts and quality of life. To ensure their ultimate happiness, the organization will provide specially designed living areas for long-term canine residents, air-conditioned play areas, and other uniquely suited amenities these precious creatures!
How To Help The Pet Alliance
It should be no surprise that building a brand new shelter and animal care center is difficult (and expensive) work. While the Pet Alliance has already raised much of the needed funds for this important endeavor, they still need your help to make the final facility a reality. Visit petallianceorlando.org/almosthome for detailed information about the ongoing capital campaign and how you can help!
