Who needs flowers and chocolates? Personally, I prefer a bit of blood and terror on my Valentine’s Day! This past weekend, we got to visit Love’s Revenge – a spooky, Valentine’s-themed event at Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail. Featuring two immersive and horrifying walkthroughs, live entertainment, and other activities (like laser tag and escape games); this event was an awesome alternative to the traditional dinner date routine.
While Love’s Revenge has ended for the 2023 season (it ran for one weekend only Feb 10-11), we are so excited to tell you all about our awesome experience. Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail consistently produces high quality, original haunts filled with detailed sets, engaging characters, and intriguing original backstories. Haunted Trails
Every Sir Henry’s event includes a selection of highly themed, haunted trails. This year’s Love’s Revenge featured two vastly different stories: Truth or Dare and Cupid’s Revenge.
Truth or Dare

Every Valentine’s night local teenagers dare each other to sneak into an old creepy house and leave a graffiti heart with initials as proof they were there. However, many who enter the house are never seen again. Legend has it that an old couple, who died in their sleep decades earlier in that same house, kills the teens who sneak in on Valentine’s. But if the couple is dead what is really going on in this old mansion? Will you find out the truth, or will this dare become the death of you?
Taking place in a large, mansion-themed trail; Truth or Dare had some of the best jump scares at this year’s event! Leading guests through every nook and cranny of this cursed house, Truth or Dare plunged attendees into near complete darkness, shoved them into impossibly tight spaces, and overwhelmed their senses with loud sound effects and visual tricks. This trail included a variety of scenes, each taking place in a different piece of the home, which created the awesome illusion of exploring the house and watching the action of the story unfold. With intense performer interactions and creative uses of the available space, Truth or Dare was definitely the scarier of the two trails.
Cupid’s Revenge

Centuries of bringing couples together has taken its toll on Cupid. What’s more? With the astronomical rate of divorce, murders, and heart ache it seems like his work is pointless. Fed up he decides to have some twisted fun. Destroying every couple who comes across his path, Cupid leaves a trail of pain and blood in his wake. Will you be fortunate enough to escape his piercing arrows or will you fall victim to his revenge?
My favorite of this year’s Love’s Revenge offerings, Cupid’s Revenge featured plenty of stunning visuals, intimidating (and sometimes darkly comedic) performer interactions, immersive scenery, and plenty of story-driven moments. Traveling through various stand-alone buildings, dark forests, town courtyards, and more; Cupid’s Revenge allowed guests to explore and engage with the town’s innermost secrets and terrifying moments. I loved seeing the actors play out small vignettes and bring the audience into the action for an incredibly unique perspective and mesmerizing story! I adored this trail!
Central Courtyard Entertainment
Between visits to the haunted trails, guests can relax in the central courtyard. Full of walkaround characters, live performers, and a spooky centerpiece; the courtyard provides a fun place to connect with friends, snap some photos, and steady yourself for your next terrifying adventure.
Other Attractions
While Sir Henry’s is best known for their immersive haunted trails and live entertainment, the attraction also offers premium, add-on activities like highly-themed escape rooms and exhilarating laser tag games. I did not experience these options during this year’s visit to Love’s Revenge, however, I have visited these attractions in the past – and they are awesome! The detailed escape rooms always present a fun story and interesting challenge. And the laser tag arena offers a fun way to battle it out with friends and family.
