In celebration of the brand new Fringe ArtSpace and its groundbreaking performances, Orlando Decoded is running a series of Q&A’s with the artists, theater companies, and upcoming productions you can enjoy during the venue’s first few weeks. Next up, let’s talk with Mallory Vance – the executive director and founder of Phoenix Tears Productions. Known for a variety of immersive production styles and engaging original stories, their murder mystery party Bleeding Hearts Club is coming to the ArtSpace THIS WEEKEND (February 10-12). Thank you, Mallory, for chatting with us!
Before we get to your upcoming show, can you tell us a little about yourself and your artistic background? Have you performed at previous Orlando Fringe Festivals or events?
“Phoenix Tears Productions has been doing shows at Orlando Fringe since 2016. We
specialize in immersive and interactive productions and have produced immersive audio
dramas, zoom shows, and murder mysteries. Our goal is always to involve the audience in
the show and make them feel like they are part of the action.”
Tell us about your upcoming show at the Fringe ArtSpace.
“Bleeding Hearts Club is an immersive murder mystery where it is up to the audience to
discover the killer. The Bleeding Hearts Club is thrilled to welcome you to their first meeting
of 2023. Are you looking for a date for Valentine’s Day? Do you have a date but want to
check compatibility? Are you just excited to spend a night out enjoying the company of
others? The Bleeding Hearts Club promises an evening of fun, games, romance, and
perhaps even murder.”
In the world of live theater, what makes your show unique?
“During Bleeding Hearts Club you are not a passive member of the audience, you are part of
the club. You will play games, interact directly with characters, investigate clues, and, if
you’re clever enough, maybe even solve a mystery. Phoenix Tears Productions specializes
in immersive and interactive shows that allow the audience to be part of the story.”
If you could make sure my readers remember one important thing about your production, what would it be?
“We want people to know that our shows are meant to be played, not watched. We
encourage interaction and delight in the twists and turns that the story takes depending on
what the audience does.”
What is the show schedule?
“We have three performances.
Friday February 10th at 7:30pm
Saturday February 11th at 7:30pm
Sunday February 12th at 2pm”

“Accessibility is VERY important to Phoenix Tears and to Fringe, so we are excited to be
offering Pay What You Can tickets to this event. These tickets can be purchased at
https://orlandofringe.thundertix.com/events/208138. We have a $20 suggested donation but we don’t want anyone to not be able to attend because of lack of funds. The money we get through tickets goes to pay our performers so please pay what you can and we can’t wait to see you there!”
Do you have any other upcoming productions or projects that you’d like to talk about?
“Phoenix Tears Productions is going to have an exciting 2023. We already have two
immersive audio dramas, another murder mystery, a phone call show, and a musical
planned. Nothing you can get tickets for yet but keep an eye on our social media because
it’s going to be a blast.”
