Now open at Legoland Florida, Pirate River Quest is a free-floating, Lego-themed boat ride through the historic canals of Cypress Gardens. With plenty of whimsical pirate figures, exciting music, water effects, interactive puzzles, and more; this remarkable attraction is a stunning addition to Legoland’s kid-friendly offerings.

Orlando Decoded was thrilled to be invited to attend a special media preview of this brand new attraction. After experiencing the ride, I have to say that Pirate River Quest is truly an incredibly unique addition to the Central Florida theme park landscape – and I can’t wait to tell you about it! Thank you, Legoland Florida, for inviting me out!
About Pirate River Quest

Set within the striking beauty of historic Cypress Gardens and picturesque Lake Eloise, Pirate River Quest is a swashbuckling boating adventure with a family-friendly feel. Floating through narrow canals on real, piloted boats; guests will encounter smiling skeletons, Lego animals (like gators, monkeys, flamingoes, etc), mythical plants, and a surprisingly helpful kraken!

To make sure the entire family can ride together, Pirate River Quest does not enforce a height requirement. However, children under the age of 6 will be required to wear a park-provided life vest.
The Pirate River Quest Experience

Located in the Pirate’s Cove section of the theme park, you’ll find Pirate River Quest next to Brickbeard’s Watersports Stunt Show.
Pro-tip: If your timing is just right, you might catch a few moments of the show from your River Quest boat! How cool!

Guests boarding Pirate River Quest are embarking on a very important journey – to save Captain Redbeard! Along with his beloved treasure, the pirate disappeared after being cursed and banished by the Monkey Tribe. The only way to return Captain Redbeard to his Legoland home is to help him find and count his lost jewels. Don’t worry, Captain Redbeard! We’re on the case!

Pirate River Quest contains several show scenes with fanciful Lego figures hidden amongst the natural Florida scenery. While guests are on board, Captain Redbeard will occasionally ask children and adults to help him locate important items or solve simple puzzles – increasing the interactive style of the attraction and keeping kids engaged in the story!

In addition to being a unique and adorable addition to Legoland’s attractions, Pirate River Quest pays special homage to its iconic surroundings. As the story concludes and the boats drive into a more open section of Lake Eloise, guests will hear a short history lesson about Cypress Gardens and its importance within the Central Florida community.
