Produced by 11th Hour and Lightup Shoebox, Leviticus (an award-winning, autobiographical play about the challenges of the LGBTQ+ community within a church environment) will return to Orlando this upcoming weekend! Originally premiering at the 2019 Orlando Fringe Festival, Leviticus received multiple accolades and Festival recognitions including the Sponsor’s Choice Award, Best New Producer, and Best LGBTQ Supporting Actress.
Created by Orlando natives, Leviticus explores the intersection of queer identity, religion, and affirmation. By using modern queer comedy and provocative drama, Leviticus looks for common ground and understanding between inclusive ideals and a traditional Christian worldview.

According to a statement from Director Ciara Hannon and Co-Producer Clark Levi, the show’s summary is as follows:
Levi Nolan is a precocious high-school lesbian who has always felt accepted by her liberal Christian denomination. But when she tries to become a youth leader, her beloved mentor cites Old Testament Bible verses preaching abomination and denies Levi the opportunity to move forward, forcing her to re-evaluate everything she believes about herself and her religion.
Leviticus will play at Audubon Park Covenant Church (3219 Chelsea St, Orlando, FL 32803) on January 7th at 2pm and 8pm and January 8th at 2pm. The show runs approximately 65 minutes and will be followed by a panel discussion with local LGBTQ+ and religious leaders. Tickets are pay-what-you-can, starting at only $1. Buy your passes online, in advance at events.humanitix.com/leviticus.
