Night of a Million Lights, a festive fundraising event supporting local nonprofit Give Kids The World, is BACK – with a brand new home! Now located at Island H20 Water Park on Sunset Walk in Kissimmee, this year’s Night of a Million Lights features dazzling lightscapes, live entertainment, character meet and greets, pictures with Santa, and even a dancing light show. We had such a great time exploring all the holiday fun. Thank you, Give Kids The World, for inviting us out!

Let’s take an in-depth look at this year’s Night of a Million Lights and all of its festive, family-friendly Christmastime activities!

A Little Bit About Night of a Million Lights and Give Kids The World

Launched in November 2020, Night of a Million Lights is a holiday fundraiser supporting Give Kids The World (also known as GKTW or The Village). An award-winning and top rated organization, Give Kids The World is an 89-acre resort providing cost-free vacations to children with critical illnesses and their families. If you’d like to learn more about The Village and its important programs, visit https://www.gktw.org.

Night of a Million Lights 2022
Previously taking place at the GKTW resort, Night of a Million Lights recently moved to a new location at Island H20 Water Park! Because of this venue change, the event does look and feel a little bit different. The offerings and scenery have shifted in order to accommodate the water park surroundings, but don’t worry. Give Kids The World has filled every corner of Island H20 with beautiful lights, gorgeous holiday displays, festive music, and lots of Christmastime fun. Here’s what you can expect at this year’s Night of a Million Lights:

Entertainment at the Live! Lagoon Stage

Head over to the Live! Lagoon stage for a rotating selection of two incredible (and very different) musical acts. First, we have the Mistle Tunes – a dueling piano duo performing classic holiday songs and Christmas carols.

After enjoying the Mistle Tunes and their lively versions of holiday hits, stick around for DJ Jack Frost. This live DJ will get the party started with remixed Christmas music, seasonal parodies, and an adorable troupe of dancing “reindeer!”

Character Meet and Greets

In a special corner filled with “snoap” flurries and beautifully lit Christmas trees, you can snap a photo with some fan-favorite holiday characters. During our visit, we saw Frosty the Snowman and one of Santa’s flying reindeer.

Winter Wonderland Kids’ Area

Preschoolers and elementary-aged children will enjoy the Winter Wonderland Kids’ Area. Older kids can write personalized letters to Santa and drop them into a “real” mailbox. For younger children that may not know how to write or simply don’t feel like it, there are plenty of coloring pages and crayons to express those Christmas wishes.

Photo Opportunities

If you are looking for your next family photo opportunity or Instagram post, you’re in luck! Hidden around Island H20 Water Park are several themed backdrops for beautiful holiday snapshots. Sit in a gorgeous, glowing sleigh; climb into a life-size snow globe, or find one of the park’s holiday decorated selfie stations. There are a ton of options!

Santa’s Toy Shop

But perhaps the most unique photo opportunity is over at Santa’s Toy Shop. Located near the Live! Lagoon stage, climb into an oversized novelty car for a memorable picture with family and friends.

Meet Santa Claus!

Of course, no Christmas event is complete without a visit from Santa Claus! Stop by St. Nick’s South Pole vacation home for a personalized interaction and special photograph.

Dancing Light Show

Don’t miss Night of a Million Lights’ exceptional Dancing Light Show! Taking place on a pair of dual tube slides (Hashtag Heights and Profile Plunge), the presentation includes four light screens with the ability to produce synchronized colors and holiday images. We saw bells, presents, and even an animation of Santa’s sleigh and tiny reindeer.
Stellar’s Tree Trail

One of the “brightest” walkways in the park, Stellar’s Tree Trail includes a variety of sponsored and beautifully decorated Christmas trees. We had a great time walking this trail and finding all the themed decorations and unique adornments. Some of our favorite sponsors included Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, Gatorland, and Jeremiah’s Italian Ice.

Freaky Thoughts

With a new location at Island H20, this year’s Night of a Million Lights offers a very different atmosphere and feel than previous events. But with a whole water park full of holiday displays, gorgeous lightscapes, and festive activities to explore; there’s plenty to keep every member of the family entertained. I really enjoyed strolling the Island H20 campus and discovering hidden Christmastime surprises around every corner.
If you are going to visit this year’s Night of a Million Lights, make sure to take your time exploring the park and finding all the beautiful holiday displays and activities. With a variety of photo backdrops, live entertainment, character meet and greets, and beautiful scenery; there’s so much to see and do at the 2022 Night of a Million Lights!
