We were so excited to check out Max Action Arena‘s Media Sneak Peek. During this special event, we had the opportunity to try out many of the center’s exciting attractions and amenities. Thank you, Max Action Arena, for inviting us out!

Max Action Arena Attractions
Max Action Arena’s attractions include an impressive variety of entertainment. Intended for older children, teenagers, and adults; passes can be purchased for individual games or as multi-activity packages. It all depends on the tastes and preferences of a particular group.
Zero Latency VR

While I’m not normally much of a gamer, I really enjoyed Max Action Arena’s Zero Latency VR, a free-roaming, virtual reality adventure. In this kind of experience, players are first fitted with an immersive headset and gun controller before being ushered into a large, empty arena. Guests can choose between several game types including a walking journey/puzzle, zombie shooters, cooperative sci-fi themes, and more. Depending on your group’s chosen title, your game could last between 15-30 minutes.

My group was told we would try a puzzle game called Engineerium. This “walking journey” would give us a good idea of how the technology worked and what an extreme, virtual reality experience really looks like.
As the game started, I found myself in the middle of a breathtaking scene – with a seemingly endless ocean far below me and flying sea creatures above. I was standing on a brick platform and had to figure out (with my fellow players) how to move from one level to another. To get an idea of what it was like inside this virtual world, check out Engineerium’s trailer below:
Engineerium’s website describes it like this, “Enter an ancient, alien world where gravity is not as it seems.” Boy, they are NOT KIDDING about the gravity! Many of the game’s pathways would twist and turn in such unnatural ways that I almost lost my balance – even though I was on straight, solid ground. The immersive, three-dimensional landscape and otherworldly environment is exciting to experience and really should not be missed. Make sure to book your own Zero Latency VR game during your visit to Max Action Arena.

Adventure Rooms

Max Action Arena also offers a variety of highly-themed Adventure Rooms. Operating much like a miniature escape game, each of these individual suites includes an immersive environment, distinctive story, and set of goal-oriented tasks. In order to win the game, you must figure out the mission and complete the necessary steps to achieve it. You only have three minutes, so don’t let the timer run out!

With several themes and stories from which to choose, there are Adventure Rooms for almost every preferred genre. We tried Cursed (a haunted house theme), CSI (a crime-solving puzzle), Medieval Times, Missile Crisis, and a sci-fi inspired alien invasion. While we weren’t able to solve all of the rooms, we had a lot of fun in each!

As a big theme park and escape room fan, I really loved exploring all the different environments and tasks in each Adventure Room. They were all incredibly unique, and it was fun to discover all the details and touches within the immersive spaces.
Axe Throwing

With a variety of different games (like general targets, tic tac toe, and moving bullseye) in varying levels of difficulty, try your hand at the axe throwing range. Set up much like a bowling alley, groups can take turns throwing, scoring, and relaxing in comfortable booths and tables. It’s a fun physical challenge, and a great way to connect with friends on a night out!

Escape From Planet Obscura

Escape from Planet Obscura was not operating during the media preview, so I can’t share anything about my personal experience. However, I can tell you that game participants have approximately 30 minutes to repair their damaged spaceship and initiate the launch sequence before becoming stranded in an alien world!
