Every Friday and Saturday for the rest of October, you can visit the Manor of Madness – a creepy haunted house benefiting the Leesburg Melon Patch Theatre. Full of ghosts, spirits, and other phantasms; Manor of Madness offers an impressively immersive experience complete with personalized performer interactions, detailed set pieces, and shocking special effects. We had the opportunity to attend Manor of Madness’ media preview, and it was SO AWESOME! Thank you, Melon Patch Theatre and Stage Fright (the creators of Manor of Madness), for inviting us out!

About Stage Fright
Manor of Madness was designed and produced by Stage Fright – an all-volunteer group of horror and performance enthusiasts. Using the actual stage, auditorium, and green room of the Melon Patch Theatre, Stage Fright creates innovative and original haunted trails. Changing the theme and story each year, these haunts utilize the time and talent of experienced entertainment professionals – some from the local theme parks!

Manor of Madness
The Story
This year’s fundraiser features the terrifying tale of the Manor of Madness. Written by Stage Fright member Alex Scopino, this story features terrible tragedy, a murdered family, and a notable anniversary. Take a look at the full narrative below:

A Walk Through The Manor of Madness!
After visiting last year’s maze (Carnival of Frights), I was so excited to experience Stage Fright’s haunt in 2022. Upon entering the theater, I was ushered into a seemingly forgotten and forbidding parlor. In this room, strange spirits gave a short pre-show explaining the Manor’s story and characters. It was a perfect introduction to the cursed mansion and the journey ahead!

Once the pre-show was complete, I slowly made my way through the rest of the house. Each scene featured a different piece of the manor (like a bedroom, dining room, attic, etc). While I don’t want to give away any spoilers, I will tell you that I was very impressed with the quality and variety of special effects, theming details, and creative jump scares used throughout the maze.
I absolutely ADORE Stage Fright’s work! As a horror enthusiast, I deeply appreciate the fascinating characters, beautiful set pieces, and imaginative ways this group finds to CREEP ME OUT! And with improved technology and even more cohesive storytelling, Manor of Madness is another level of quality for this creative company. The haunt is so much fun, and I highly recommend it for Halloween fans, live theater-goers, and anyone looking for a unique night out.

Presuming you survive your trip through the Manor of Madness, check out the Concessions Midway. Brand new to Stage Fright’s annual fundraiser, the midway will feature a variety of locally-provided products and services such as: cotton candy, tarot card readings, face painting, and homemade desserts.
