The 2022 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival has returned to Walt Disney World! Bringing delicious global marketplaces, exciting live entertainment, and family-friendly activities; this annual culinary celebration is a favorite among theme park and Disney fans. While many of 2022’s festival features are returning from previous years, there is one BRAND NEW global marketplace (food booth) added to the current itinerary: The Fry Basket!
About The Fry Basket
Located near Test Track, this global marketplace features a variety of yuca and potato fries – including a wide selection of toppings (some plant-based, some not-so-plant-based). My family sampled both food items on the Fry Basket’s menu: the Adobo Yuca Fries with Garlic-Cilantro Aïoli and the Fry Flight!
Adobo Yuca Fries with Garlic-Cilantro Aïoli
Made from the root of the South American Cassava plant, yuca fries feature a heartier texture and more earthy taste than its potato-based counterparts. While they aren’t for everyone, I ADORE yuca fries. And Epcot’s version did not disappoint! Between the savory fries and the bright and flavorful aïoli, this was my favorite menu item at The Fry Basket!
Fry Flight
Epcot’s Fry Flight includes three vastly different varieties: Sea Salt and Malt Vinegar Fries, Barbecued Bacon Fries with Smoked Aïoli, and Sweet Potato Casserole Fries with Candied Pecans, Toasted Marshmallow Cream and Caramel Whisky. With such a diverse flavor palate, all four of my family members were able to find a taste that worked for them. And as an added bonus, the portions are fairly hefty – making this a delicious, value-conscious snack!
Final Thoughts on The Fry Basket
As much as I enjoyed our food, I don’t know that I would return to The Fry Basket. I’d rather spend my money and calories on the more unique food options around the park. There’s literally a whole world of flavors available around the Showcase Lagoon and beyond!
However, if you and your family are snack enthusiasts – go ahead and give The Fry Basket a taste! Considering the size and variety of flavors, the Fry Flight is a decent value; and who doesn’t love a delicious plate of fried food?
