Wine Wars, a competitive wine tasting event, will return to Thornton Park on October 1! Benefitting The Zebra Coalition (a network of organizations aiding lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth), Wine Wars is a creative and fun way to support local causes!
Offering a party-like atmosphere, gourmet vendors, and yummy wine; Wine Wars is a unique night out for friends and family. We got to attend their April event, and it was such a great experience. How to Participate in Wine Wars
Prepping for the Competition
To participate in Wine Wars (as either a competing team or non-drinking participant), you must purchase a ticket on EventBrite. Tickets are between $25-35. Competing teams can only contain between 1-3 individuals and must choose a creative team name. The best name will a $200 gift card to Capital Grille, so choose wisely!
No matter how many people are on your team, you must bring three bottles of your chosen wine. October’s competition will focus on Chardonnay!
After a few words from the event’s sponsor, it’s time to sip! Teams will travel around the venue, tasting unidentified wines as they go. At the end of the night, competitors will vote for their favorite entry using a digital scorecard. The team bringing the highest rated wine will win all of the unopened bottles (at least a single bottle per team) – except one!
At Wine Wars, even the loser gets a prize! The team with the lowest rated wine will have the honor of bringing their unopened bottle back home!
How to Register for Orlando’s Wine Wars
Wine Wars will take place on October 1 at The Veranda at Thornton Park. In addition to the wine tasting competition, all participants will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious food from select vendors, a live DJ, and more! Buy your non-drinker ticket or register your Wine Wars team on EventBrite!
