Spice Is Nice International Market Brings the Heat to Downtown Sanford

Summer just got a little bit hotter with the grand opening of Spice is Nice – an International heat market in Downtown Sanford. Set inside a funky, refurbished space with reclaimed shelving, this brand new store features spicy foods from all over the world. Recently, we had the awesome opportunity to chat with store owner and award-winning hot sauce maker Dino Ferri. Located in Downtown Sanford’s “Famous L,” Spice is Nice is truly a one-stop shop for a variety of heat and flavor-filled products. The shelves are stocked with spicy peppers, dry rubs, and of course, lots and lots of sauces (including Ferri’s very own brand – Hotter Than El).

But Spice is Nice carries so much more than traditional sauces and seasonings. You can also find pancake mix with jalapeños, spicy peanut butter, kuchela (a pickled mango relish from Trinidad), and even a peppery toothpaste! There’s really no limit to what you might find on the Spice is Nice shelves.

In addition to a comprehensive selection, Spice is Nice offers a personalized shopping experience. Would you like to try some of the items before making a final purchase? Spice is Nice carries a wide variety of quality hot sauce and spicy food brands, including Dino’s very own Hotter Than El! Founded in 2015, Hotter Than El offers unique, award-winning sauces that are carefully crafted to be free of artificial flavors and sweeteners. Instead, Dino uses natural sources (like carrots or fruits) to flavor his sauces – creating an uncharacteristically pure hot sauce experience.
