Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail, a spooky attraction in Plant City, contains three haunted trails around a central courtyard with live entertainment, amenities, and other fun activities. Featuring annual Halloween and Valentine’s events (and in 2021 – a Haunted Christmas), Sir Henry’s is constantly working to improve its terrifying trails and other attractions. Last year, Sir Henry’s conducted extensive renovations including upgrades to all three of its creepy walkthroughs, a brand new laser tag arena, a huge new haunted house facade, and expanded retail space.
For the 2022 season, Sir Henry’s is at it again with even MORE improvements and enhancements coming to its eerie experiences. Recently Orlando Decoded spoke with Zach Glaros, owner of Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail. He shared some exciting news about the current renovations, attraction enhancements, and more that we can expect during the upcoming spooky season. Thank you, Zach, for chatting with us! Changes Coming to Sir Henry’s Haunted Trails
Just like last year, all of Sir Henry’s distinctly unique haunted trails will receive upgrades and improvements to their structures, set pieces, and effects.
Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail #1
Trail #1, on the lefthand side of the courtyard, is receiving massive overhauls with upgrades to the facade and totally new interior scenes.
What I love most about this trail is its faux 1800’s village, complete with full buildings that guests can enter and exit as they walk through the experience. Retaining this unique aspect the trail, part of these renovations will include a brand new town, including a church and courthouse.

And there’s more! Besides these new, physical sets; this trail is getting a slew of upgraded special effects – adding even more realism and thrill to the experience! Get ready for projection scenes, fire effects, and increased levels of blood and gore on this new and improved walkthrough.
Headless – Coming to the 2022 Halloween Event!
Last month, Sir Henry’s announced that Trail #1 would be the Halloween home of Headless – an original take on the classic tale of the Headless Horseman. Check out the short trailer below:
Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail #2
Trail #2 is what I like to call the “haunted house trail.” Sir Henry’s fans might remember that, during last year’s renovations, this trail’s facade got a MAJOR upgrade:
Now the Sir Henry’s team is continuing to work on the interior scenes – focused on updating some of the rooms, set pieces, and effects. We don’t yet know what this trail’s Halloween story will be, but we do know we can expect some of the delightfully creepy vibes we’ve come to know and love from this spooky mansion.
Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail #3
Because this trail got so much attention during last year’s renovations (including a major overhaul of the interior scenes and exterior facade), don’t expect too many additional physical changes for the 2022 season. HOWEVER, Zach did tell me that his team is adding some impressive new effects and animatronics to this nautically themed walk through experience (so much so that they had to run additional power to this maze)!
Much like Trail #2, we’re still waiting on an official story announcement for this specific attraction. But Zach did mention that we will be taking a “deeper dive” – presumably in reference to last year’s Captain’s Fury seaside village that took place in this location. This, of course, could mean a multitude of different storylines, but it certainly implies something watery and I AM SO HERE FOR IT!!!!
Courtyard Area Changes at Sir Henry’s
But the spooky trails are only part of the overall Sir Henry’s experience. Between all the walkthroughs is a circular courtyard with a beautiful centerpiece, refreshments, retail area, and outside vendors. You can also access Sir Henry’s extra attractions here – such as laser tag, an escape game, pumpkin patch, photo opportunities, and axe throwing.

Sir Henry’s Escape Game is getting a new building and new theme for the 2022 Halloween event! Always appropriately themed for the holiday, I’ve been lucky enough to play several iterations of this fun attraction. It’s always a great way to enhance a haunted evening, and I can’t wait to see what the updated venue brings!

Regular attraction attendees will remember that Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail’s beautiful centerpiece has undergone quite the transformation over the last few years…
And the changes keep coming! In 2022, guests should expect an even more improved centerpiece. Zach did not share any specifics about what these upgrades might include, but he did say that it will require even more power to run effectively! I’m excited to see the finished product in the fall.
