Orlando Fringe is back with a wide variety of ticketed performances, a free outdoor stage, an eclectic visual art gallery, and kids’ activities. While there’s simply too much Fringe to cover in a single article, we are doing a series of posts about this incredible Orlando event. In this fifth installment, we’re heading to the “rocks on the green” for a lively, improvised debate – Spill the Tea with Jaimz and Johnnie!
We were honored to attend a press preview for this out-of-the-box show! Thank you, Orlando Fringe, for inviting us out!
What is Orlando Fringe?
Spill the Tea with Jaimz and Johnnie is playing at Orlando Fringe, a two-week theater festival focused on unjuried and uncensored works of performance art. While similar festivals exist all over the world, Orlando Fringe is the longest running event of its kind within the United States. Fringe Festivals are generally known for featuring alternative or experimental pieces of art, so you really never know what you’re going to find!
Spill the Tea with Jaimz and Johnnie

In this 30 minute, outdoor show; Jaimz Dillman (founder of Corsets & Cuties) and Johnnie Maier (Thankskilling: The Musical) attempt to solve the world’s problems with humor, light-hearted arguing, and careful representation of both sides.
How Does It Work?
At the beginning of each show, audience members will write down important or divisive topics on pieces of paper (my showing included issues like men, women’s rights, and bras) and put them into the “Bitch Box.” Jaimz and Johnnie then select an entry at random and announce who will represent which side of the argument. One will always be on the pro side of the problem, and the other will always be against – making sure each viewpoint is aired appropriately. The video below explains it best:
Spill The Tea With Jaimz and Johnnie according to the Orlando Fringe website,
Join the conversation! Its 2022 and there’s plenty to b**ch about. So come drop your gripes in the b**ch box, gather on the rocks on the lawn, and talk it out as we air our grievances to create world peace.
In 30 minutes or less.
Remember, nothing gets solved if no one talks.
Come b**ch with Jaimz and Johnnie. (Not for the easily offended).
Freaky Thoughts
Like the descriptions states, “nothing gets solved if no one talks.” Spill the Tea with Jaimz and Johnnie is an important reminder that it is possible to engage in productive discourse without the toxic fallout. And the outdoor setting combined with the disarming hosts provide a safe place for audience members to share some of their thoughts on each topic as well – allowing for even more viewpoints to be heard and appreciated.

This was a really fun show and unlike anything I’ve ever seen at Fringe. And at $8 a ticket, it’s an affordable way to round out a Festival evening. So grab a space on the rocks and solve the world’s problems with Jaimz and Johnnie!
