Since holding their initial classes in the beginning of 2020, Legacy Taekwondo Academy continues to grow and expand. In just two years, the organization has evolved from small sessions located in various host venues to this week’s Grand Opening of their very own space! Congratulations, Legacy Taekwondo Academy on your new, beautiful studio – located inside the Oviedo Mall!
I was excited and honored to attend this awesome Grand Opening ceremony, featuring live demonstrations, a look at their class schedule, chats with the owners, and an overall introduction to the craft of taekwondo (I even got to break a board!). Thank you, Oviedo Mall and Legacy Taekwondo Academy for inviting me out!
About Legacy Taekwondo Academy
A family owned studio, Legacy Taekwondo Academy is primarily operated by brother-sister duo Masters Katie and Landon Noland. With a combined experience of almost twenty years of training, both siblings have attained multiple titles and accomplishments throughout their already storied careers.
Master Katie Noland is a 3rd Dan recognized Kukkiwon and a 4th Dan USCDKA recognized black belt. Beginning her training in 2013, Katie has accrued thousands of hours of teaching time as well as many national first place titles in Traditional Forms & Weapons. During the 2015-2016 national tournament circuit (just a couple years after starting her training), Katie placed 2nd in overall points – a pretty incredible achievement! Master Katie’s favorite weapons are the nunchucks.
Also a Kukkiwon recognized 3rd Dan and USCDKA recognized 4th Dan black belt, Master Landon Noland began his martial arts training in 2012. Master Landon has also accrued many prestigious tournament titles, including the 2016 National Grand Championship Title in Nunchucks and the 2019 National Grand Championship Title in Bo Staff (his favorite weapon). During the previously mentioned 2015-2016 national tournament cycle, Landon ranked 6th in overall points. Master Noland is passionate about physical fitness and empowering children to reach their overall goals.
