Wine Wars, a competitive wine tasting event, will take place in Thornton Park on April 2! Benefitting A Gift For Teaching (a nonprofit offering educational supplies and experiences to Central Florida students), Wine Wars offers a fun night out for friends and family!
How Wine Wars Works
Prepping for the Competition
To participate in Wine Wars (as either a competing team or non-drinking participant), you must purchase a ticket on EventBrite. Tickets are between $25-35. Competing teams can only contain between 1-3 individuals and must choose a creative team name. The best name will win a private wine party for up to 20 people, so choose wisely!
Each team must bring three bottles of a specified type of wine to the event. Orlando’s competition will focus on Cabernet!
After a few words from the event’s sponsor, it’s time to sip! Teams will travel around the venue, tasting unidentified wines as they go. At the end of the night, competitors will vote for their favorite entry using a digital scorecard. The team bringing the highest rated wine will win all of the unopened bottles (at least a single bottle per team) – except one!
At Wine Wars, even the loser gets a prize! The team with the lowest rated wine will have the honor of bringing their unopened bottle back home!
