Yesterday was Three Kings Day, a celebration of the wise men who sought out and glorified Baby Jesus in the Christian Nativity story. Most often celebrated in Latin cultures, Three Kings Day marks the 12th day of Christmas and the final end of the holiday season. While most other local theme parks and attractions have already moved on to the New Year, SeaWorld hosts an annual observance of this special holiday including speciality foods and a spectacular, outdoor presentation. We had the opportunity to check it out Thursday afternoon, and it was so much fun!
Food And Beverage

In honor of holiday tradition, SeaWorld serves a special, limited menu during the Three Kings Celebration. Available only at the concession stand near the Nautilus theater, guests can purchase empanadas, tostones, or either an alcoholic and non-alcoholic coquito (a coconut Christmas drink from Puerto Rico).

Tale of the Three Kings

But the best part of the celebration is a beautiful presentation called “Tale of The Three Kings.” Playing intermittently throughout the afternoon, this approximately 20-minute show tells the story of the three wise men’s journey to the promised child. With narration in both English and Spanish, the show features an engaging storyteller educating theme park goers about common practices and traditions surrounding this holiday. At the end, guests have the opportunity to meet and snap a photo with the three kings.

Freaky Thoughts: SeaWorld Three Kings Celebration

New Frights Abound at SeaWorld Howl-O-Scream’s Inaugural Fear
While Three Kings Day has enjoyed limited represented at other Orlando theme parks and attractions (it is often recognized as part of the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays), SeaWorld offers one of the only stand alone events on the actual day. I thought the presentation was beautiful, moving, and entertaining. And I really appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the traditions and culture surrounding the holiday. The Three Kings Celebration is over for 2022, but keep your eye on SeaWorld’s website for the most up-to-date information about 2023’s event and other special occurrences at the park!
