Imagine this: you’re at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You’ve just gotten off the Kilamanjaro Safari ride when you realize you are STARVING! You don’t want a full table-service meal, but you need more than a snack. What are your options? Well, you can drag your family out of the Africa section and to the opposite side of the park, or you can try the seasonally-available, open-air lunch option – Harambe Market!

Harambe Market Menu
Themed after an old, Colonial-era train depot, this beautifully decorated market features a simple yet diverse menu. Meat lovers and plant eaters alike can find something to eat with options including a Ribs and Chicken Bowl, Harambe Salad, and Hot Link Bowl with plant-based sausage!

Hot Link Bowl
I, of course, chose the Hot Link Bowl with plant-based sausage, cilantro rice, and mixed greens topped with salsa. While the sausage definitely tasted like a vegan dish (no fooling any meat eaters with this one), I thought it was absolutely delicious! It had a nice crust on the outside and the inside was definitely tasty. Paired with the rice and greens, it was nice balance of flavors and sufficiently filling to fuel me for the rest of my day at the park. I highly recommend this vegan meal!
