You’re Invited to the Orlando Fringe Lottery!

Orlando Fringe, an annual theater festival celebrating diverse artists and voices, will host its annual performance lottery on November 19th – and you’re invited! Join fellow Fringe lovers in a night of fun music, delicious food, and – the main event – an exciting lottery determining the featured shows in the 2022 Festival! Executive Director Alauna Friskas states, “We wanted to offer an inclusive lottery experience that pulls together not only artists but also audiences, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and all lovers of Fringe. Everyone is invited to join in the festivities.”

What is the Annual Lottery?

Orlando Fringe is dedicated to the unjuried and unrestricted appreciation of artists and their work. In order to best maintain this standard, productions are chosen at random in the annual lottery, separated by venue tier and geographic origin (local, national, and international). Fringe also offers two pre-lotteries (Amplified Voices and Fringers of the Future) specifically designed to increase opportunities for artists that might otherwise face additional obstacles.

Fringers of the Future

Funded by the Universal Orlando Foundation, Fringers of the Future allows middle and high school students the opportunity to produce their own unjuried shows with waived application and performance fees.

Amplified Voices

Fringe’s Amplified Voices provides additional opportunities for the representation of writers and producers from marginalized groups. Artists not chosen in the Amplified Voices lottery will still be entered into the regular lottery – increasing their chances of selection.

The Party!

Taking place in the outdoor courtyard of the Lowndes Shakespeare Center, the festivities will run from 7-11pm. Featuring a stocked bar with both alcoholic and nonalcoholic options, you can dance the night away with Johnny Rivero (Exclu the only DJ), spinning a variety of music. Attendees will have the opportunity to win various prizes, and don’t forget to take a selfie at the provided stations!

Free parking will be provided, and there’s no fee for admission! For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page!
