Scream N’ Stream is like a Drive-In Horror Movie crossed with a Haunted House, and it opens this Friday at the Oviedo Mall! While you may have visited their ground-breaking 2020 event, this year brings totally new adventures with an engaging story, terrifying characters, and monster-blasting stun guns (you read that right)! We had the awesome opportunity to attend their media preview night – and it was so much fun! Read on for more about our experience and what you can expect during your evening at this year’s Scream N’ Stream!
A big THANK YOU to the Scream N’ Stream team for having us out and for organizing a great event.

Clowns vs Zombies
This year, Scream N’ Stream takes you inside Station 5 – a top-secret facility developing biological “assets” designed to intimidate and frighten our most powerful enemies. You and your group will be given a completely car-accessible tour of the laboratories, habitats, and other functional areas. Of course, things go horribly wrong as these manufactured (yet sentient) assets are prone to fighting back! Arm yourself with your stun gun and protect your group as you fight your way to freedom in Scream N’ Stream’s interactive new show – Clowns vs Zombies!

Arriving at Scream n’ Stream
When your vehicle arrives at the Scream N’ Stream entrance, you’ll first need to show your ticket. While gate admissions are available, it’s more advisable to purchase your car’s pass online as gate admissions may experience extended waiting times. (Additionally, you’ll save money by buying your ticket ahead of time.)
After showing your pass, the driver will need to display their valid license and insurance information. Please have these items ready to reduce your (and other’s) wait! After showing these documents, you’ll be given two passes: one showing that you’re ready to begin your experience and the other indicating how many stun guns will be allotted for your vehicle.

A Note on Stun Gun Distribution
The amount of stun guns allotted to your vehicle depends on your ticket type and the number of passengers. General admission tickets are given up to three stun guns while VIP tickets will be given up to seven. DRIVERS MAY NOT USE THE LASER GUNS OR ANY OTHER DEVICE WHILE INSIDE THE EXPERIENCE, so guns will be distributed to the remaining passengers up to the allowed allotment.
Orientation and Training
Once you’ve received these two passes, you’ll wait for your turn to access the facility and begin your initial briefings. While you are waiting, be sure to turn your radios to station 91.9 FM. It’s broadcasting tons of great audio and helpful information related to the story you’re about to enter.

Inside, you’ll encounter a series of tents with important safety and story information. Pay attention, and remember that drivers must not operate any device (including cellphones) while inside Station 5. Additionally, no one should get out of the vehicle at any time.

At the final check, it’s time to receive your equipment. Shooters, get ready to practice with your stun guns. If there are more passengers than guns in the car – don’t worry too much! There’s still another very important job. Each car will receive a kill switch device (or EMU). This cartridge must be guarded during your tour of Station 5! Don’t give it to anyone you can’t trust.

Touring Station 5
Okay! You’ve been briefed and trained. Are you ready for your tour of Station 5?

Upon entering the facility, you’ll be immediately immersed in this world of clowns, zombies, soldiers, and scientists. Traveling through a series of laboratories and habitats, you’ll meet a seemingly overwhelming number of monsters trying to attack your vehicle from all sides. Aim for the circular targets on each asset’s chest to protect your friends!

As a big fan of pretty much all haunted attractions (especially those that think outside the box like this one), I really appreciate the new levels of interaction provided by the 2021 Scream N’ Stream show. Not only does everyone have an important role, but the environment responds to your party throughout your tour. As you shoot attacking monsters, they will react in real time – affecting your actual experience and increasing your immersion in the story.

And it is a story! Unlike some attractions which feel like a compilation of spooky images, Scream N’ Stream has a coherent beginning, middle, and end to the experience. Of course, it’s a big bonus that this story includes both zombies AND clowns (who doesn’t love at least one of those?).

And finally – there’s the value. Our tour through Station 5 lasted around 30 minutes from the beginning of orientation to the exit. Walk-through haunted houses generally feature a much shorter time frame. Since Scream N’ Stream is priced per car, not per person (up to 8 passengers with legal seatbelts); you can potentially snag a trip through Station 5 for less than $10 each! That’s a pretty huge value!

How To Book Your Station 5 Tour
You can purchase your Scream N’ Stream ticket on their website. Tickets vary in price by available date.
You can also purchase a VIP ticket with front of the line access, anytime arrival, additional stun gun allotments and exclusive merchandise such as a bumper sticker, collectible coin, and event poster. VIP tickets currently start at $139 per car.

Also at the Oviedo Mall
Once you’ve completed your tour, head inside the Oviedo Mall for more spooky fun! At the District Eat & Play, you can enjoy a variety of Scream N’ Stream and Halloween-themed appetizers and cocktails (not for the designated driver, of course). The District also features escape rooms, an arcade, axe throwing and more! Closing hours vary between 9pm – 11pm, so be sure to check the District’s website before visiting.
Please do not drink alcoholic beverages before driving through Scream N’ Stream.

Another big thank you to the Scream N’ Stream team for inviting us to experience their brand new event! We had a great time, and we hope you’ll start planning your journey into Station 5 for Clowns vs Zombies!
