Welcome to Part 2 of my quest to try all the new food booths coming to the 2021 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival! Last week, I sampled the delicious tofu pho and shrimp curry options at The Noodle Exchange located near the Traveler’s Cafe at the entrance to the World Showcase. In today’s installment, I walk all the way to the back of the park to The American Adventure. Let’s try the Rotunda Bistro!
About Rotunda Bistro

Focused on produce and fresh seafood, The Rotunda Bistro order fulfillment area and seating are actually located inside the American Adventure – allowing guests to enjoy their tastings with air conditioning!
As a MAJOR seafood and mushroom fan, this menu looked like a dream come true! After a bit of deliberation, I decided that crab is obviously superior to shrimp (plus there’s caviar!). I ordered the Crab and Avocado Parfait and the Wild Mushroom and Truffle Tart and stepped inside.
I then took my receipt to a small “kitchen area” set up in the Pavilion entrance foyer. A Cast Member assembled my crab parfait right in front of me, so it know it was fresh!

Chilled Crab and Avocado Parfait

Complete honesty? I was disappointed with the Crab and Avocado Parfait. While the meat was juicy and tasty, the avocado was more like cheap guacamole than sliced produce. It even had a strong taste of cilantro. While I don’t generally mind this flavor, it was jarring when paired with the delicate crab and caviar. If you’re looking for a shellfish dish, I wouldn’t recommend this option. Wait for The Lobster Landing booth opening on October 1st!
Wild Mushroom and Truffle Tart

Served with gruyere cheese and crème fraîche, I could have eaten at least three servings of this treat. The flavors worked well together, and the pastry was perfectly flaky and wonderful. If you like mushrooms, I highly recommend this option.
Final Thoughts on Rotunda Bistro
While I greatly enjoyed my Wild Mushroom tart, it was not as filling as the dishes I sampled at The Noodle Exchange. Pair that with the disappointing flavors and high price ($6.50) of the Crab and Avocado Parfait, and I just wasn’t as satisfied with this experience as I was with some of the other food around the festival. Proceed with caution.
