If you’re anything like me, you watched the recent Disney Wish announcement (particularly the piece about the upcoming Worlds of Marvel restaurant) and thought, “What in the world is a ‘cinematic dining experience’?” Well, today we learned a bit more about Disney’s ambitious plans for this one-of-a-kind venue.
Featuring Ant Man and the Wasp, diners will help them prepare for their first speaking engagement on behalf of the beloved Avengers characters. During their presentation, the heroes will demonstrate various Marvel technologies, such as Captain America’s shield, Iron Man’s arc reactor, and, of course, Ant Man’s Pym Particles.
Disney released the below video to give us a taste of the experience:
WHAT???? What just happened?!
As inferred by the video, each table will be equipped with a special Quantum Core, capable of remotely shrinking and enlarging items. During your experience, you can individually assist Ant Man and the Wasp with some smaller trials of the technology. When all the cores are used together, however, the entire restaurant will become supercharged with energy pulses through the walls and ceiling.
I have no idea how realistic these effects will appear in person or what the rest of the experience will ultimately look like – but I’m intrigued to say the least!
