Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail (an annual attraction in Plant City) fans and followers might have noticed a few intriguing social media posts in the last few weeks! The I-4 Fear Park is getting some major upgrades before their 2021 haunted event. While there’s still much to learn about the upcoming changes, Orlando Decoded recently sat down with Sir Henry’s owner, Zach Glaros, to discuss the massive renovations, exciting improvements, and the first trail announcement for the spooky season. Let’s take a look at the gory details!
Common Area Changes at Sir Henry’s

If you’ve ever visited Sir Henry’s in the past, you know that the event includes three outdoor haunted trails with a large common area for socializing, grabbing a refreshment, or taking pictures and interacting with some of the event’s original walk-around characters. While these offerings will remain the same, this area is being expanded to offer additional amenities and experiences – like more food options, a pumpkin patch, additional photo opportunities, extra seating, and an expanded retail space. The beloved common area centerpiece will also be getting a facelift and new upgrades – through we don’t yet know exactly what that will look like.
As far as entertainment is concerned, you can still expect to find your favorite walk-around characters – with some added friends! Two brand new and horrifying icons will join the common area fun. The additions to Sir Henry’s crew will include one character from last year’s stories and one from the upcoming 2021 trails. We’ll have to stay tuned to find out exactly who to expect!

Zach also confirmed that Sir Henry’s laser tag game and escape room WILL RETURN for 2021! In order to accommodate the expanded common space, laser tag will move to a new location and will receive its own set of improvements and upgrades. The escape room will be getting a new story, focused on one of the attraction’s esteemed characters.
Changes Coming to Sir Henry’s Trails
Sir Henry’s will still feature their traditional three haunted trails. However, there are changes and modifications (of varying severity) coming to each one. All of the trails will receive updated effects (potentially even an animatronic or two!) and renovated set pieces. Just like the common area, many details have yet to be released, but here’s what we do know about these exciting developments!
Sir Henry’s Haunted Traill #1: Captain’s Fury

Officially announced earlier this month, Sir Henry’s first trail is called Captain’s Fury!
According to the event’s website, this trail’s story is as follows:
On the outskirts of Castlemoore lies a dark fishing town named Portsmouth. A young fishing captain is soon to be married to the love of his life, Abagail. But Captain Willem Jonah is soon sent back out to sea for work. When his ship falters in an unexpected nor’easter, the captain and his crew are believed to be lost at sea forever. In mourning and deep sorrow, Abagail seeks to end her suffering the only way she can think of: she jumps to her death from the lighthouse. Her ghost is said to be seen walking along the lighthouse balcony, looking for her long lost love. Many moons later an eerie fog rolls into Portsmouth. Soon, reports of mysterious murders and tragic deaths begin to swirl. Some claim that it is the ghost of the Abagail, but the old timers in the village know what the truth is. The captain has returned from the sea. Blurring the lines between living and dead Captain Jonah has come back for his love only to learn of her tragic death. In his anger and pain, he takes his wrath to the village who has caused him to lose everything. Bringing some of his crew from the sea back with him to carry out his revenge. Who is next to join him in the watery grave?
Inspired by Zach’s love of fishing, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and New England architecture; Captain’s Fury will be located to the far right of Sir Henry’s gates (where Midnight Slaughter was held during the 2020 event). Here’s a special sneak peek at some of the new and improved sets in this spooky fishing village!

Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail #2

Fans of the event will know this trail as “the one that looks like a giant haunted house.” Well, you might remember this Instagram video capturing the moment that familiar facade was torn down to make room for (literally) bigger and better things!
The previous facade is being replaced with a much taller haunted house front. Additionally, almost 60% of the overall trail will be updated and renovated to give it a new, fresh look.
Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail #3
While this trail (the one in the back left corner – home to The Kissing Tree during 2021’s Love’s Revenge Valentine’s event) will receive the least of the changes, there will be some upgrades to the sets and facade.
