Theater fans rejoice! Orlando Fringe will return May 18-31 for its 30th Annual Orlando International Fringe Theater Festival (making our city’s iteration the longest running fringe theater festival in the United States).
While last year’s event was cancelled due to the pandemic, this year’s festival will continue as planned. However, Fringe leadership has enacted several safety and sanitation measures to keep audience members and performers healthy and secure.
- Venue capacity will be reduced to accommodate social distancing guidelines.
- Cocktail service will be offered to reduce travel within the venues.
- The Visual Fringe Gallery will be removed and replaced with an online version.
- Strict mask-wearing policies will be enforced.
- Pamplets and programs have been eliminated.
- Digifringe will offer virtual performance alternatives for those not comfortable attending the in-person festival.
“Arts play a crucial role in our community’s recovery, said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer in 2020, “Fringe is always a space where we can leave our troubles behind.”

Fringe Festival’s 2021 theme will be “Celebrate” in commemoration of the end of 2020, the continued healing of our city, and unique local talent that makes our town such a fun place to live!
If you’d like to support Orlando Fringe, you can purchase a personalized cardboard cutout to fill empty seats within the various venues. Cutouts start at $50 for a single seat. Review their order form for more information and specific pricing.
Stay tuned for more information about this year’s Fringe Festival!
