Are you ready for the Who-lidays? I know I am! Earlier this morning, Universal announced its socially-distanced, pandemic-friendly activities planned for this season. Every day from November 14-January 3, guests can enjoy holiday-themed events at both theme parks. Let’s take a look at what we can expect during the Universal Orlando holidays!
Universal Studios Florida
There won’t be an epic holiday parade this year, but that doesn’t mean we won’t get to see some amazing balloons!
ALL-NEW Universal’s Holiday Experience featuring Macy’s Balloons
A new walk-through experience, guests will get up close and personal with these famous balloons. After strolling through larger-than-life nutcrackers, reindeer, and beloved cartoon characters; guests can take a distanced selfie with Santa Claus!
Exploring Universal’s New Balloon Experience and Tribute Store
Universal Orlando Holiday Character Celebration at Universal Studios Florida
Characters from popular movies, such as Despicable Me and Madagascar, will arrive on festive floats to take pictures with guests and perform short holiday-themed show moments. According to Universal’s description, it sounds like this offering will be much like the character meet and greets that are operating right now. The main difference, of course, will be the holiday theming.
ALL-NEW Holiday Tribute Store
Located in the New York section of the park, this highly themed store will feature a fun atmosphere and specialty merchandise. There will be a total of four immersive rooms – including one celebrating the Grinch!
Islands of Adventure
Unlike previous years, there will not be an onstage production of How The Grinch Stole Christmas in 2020.
Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch and Who-liday Character Appearances
The Grinch and the merry Whos will be greeting friends and taking photos in Seuss Landing.
Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Throughout Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, enjoy beautiful decorations and holiday performances by The Frog Choir and Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees. Guests can also enjoy seasonal food and beverage, such as Hot Butterbeer!
Premium Experiences
While most of the holiday fun is included in your ticket price, these offerings do require additional purchases. Holiday Tree Hunt
After purchasing this experience, guests will search both theme parks and CityWalk for 16 festively decorated trees. If all are found, the successful seekers will receive a special ornament as a reward.
Holiday Treat Trail
Of course, Universal Orlando offers plenty of specialty food and drinks for the holiday season. Guests can request a complimentary map to guide them to each featured item. If they purchase all qualifying refreshments, they’ll receive a free sweet treat!
Enjoy the Universal Orlando Holidays!
All of the festive, holiday fun begins on Saturday, November 14! I can’t wait to see the new walk-through balloon experience and enjoy all of the breathtaking decorations. Happy holidays!
