It’s about to get a little easier to reserve your spot on one of the Disney’s most popular attractions, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Disney has made some significant changes to the Rise of the Resistance virtual queue.
The new process will go into effect on November 3.
Guests will be able to secure a boarding pass in one of two ways:
- EVERYONE who has a park reservation and valid ticket will have access to the virtual queue beginning at 7am – OUTSIDE THE PARK! You can reserve your boarding pass while you’re getting ready at home, just waking up at your hotel, or eating breakfast at a local restaurant. As long as you have valid access to the park and the My Disney Experience app, you are ready to book!
- If you are not able to reserve a boarding pass during this initial window, the Rise of the Resistance virtual queue will still open again at 2pm. However, you must be inside the park to take advantage of this second opportunity.
Personally, I am thrilled to see these changes to the virtual queue system. Since the ride opened, it’s needed to be more easily accessible to Guests. While the queues will still fill as quickly (though recent plexiglass installments between rows do increase ride capacity), at least many Guests will be able to arrive at the park at a more reasonable time with a reserved boarding group number.
