Amatista Cookhouse at Sapphire Falls Resort within Universal Orlando is a full-service restaurant featuring seasonal menus inspired by Caribbean flavors. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you’re always likely to find a delicious option for your palate. Recently, a friend and I decided to sample their dinner menu offerings.
Featuring an exhibition kitchen and coastal decor, this restaurant is spectacularly beautiful!
As in any Caribbean inspired restaurant, expect to find plenty of fruit flavors, seafood, and grilled meats on the menu! At the time of this writing, lunch entrees can range from $15-$20. Dinner is a bit more pricey, of course, with entrees reaching $39 for pan-seared halibut and $48 for filet mignon.
For appetizers, my friend and I enjoyed the Carne Asada Street Tacos and Empanadas made with chicken and gouda cheese. Both were delicious.
We both ordered the Angus Strip Steak for our entree. and the Red Velvet Caribbean Cheesecake for dessert. We enjoyed our entree, and the steak was cooked according our order. The cheesecake was the only part of the meal that was slightly disappointing. It was sweet but not as flavorful as the menu promised. I wouldn’t order it again.
Freaky Thoughts: Amatista Cookhouse
This is a beautiful restaurant with mostly delicious and high quality food. I found the restaurant to be unnecessarily expensive, however, I live in Florida and therefore have regular access to Caribbean-inspired food. If you live in another state or country that is not near the Caribbean, I would imagine its harder to find this kind of cuisine. It’s worth considering Amatista Cookhouse as a dinner option if you’re staying at Sapphire Falls or another Universal Orlando resort. Otherwise, I would look for more convenient options.
